The Kingdom on Earth

Then I Saw…

Revelation 21:1 begins with the words, “Then I saw…” This brings to mind the common saying, “Seeing is believing.” More than that, scripture tells us in Matthew 6:22, “…if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light.” In essence, what we see has exponential impact on our beliefs and our bodies. These principles apply all the more for the corporate Body of Christ.

I’m sure that you’re also familiar with the common saying, “Looks can be deceiving…” This has never been more true in the earth. What looks good and moral may in fact be perversion in disguise. What looks faithful and inspires emotion may actually be witchcraft. Then, on the other hand… What looks like laziness may be surrender. What looks arrogant may be unwavering confidence in the gospel. In all of this, it is important to test what we see and let the Holy Spirit be the gauge, grid, and guarantee of what is true in the earth.  This practice is the only way to navigate our way out of the knowledge of good and evil and back to true life in Christ.

A New Heaven…

John, the author of Revelation, saw a new heaven. Have you? Do you?

Elsewhere in scripture John records Jesus saying, “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you” (John 15:15). This explanation by Jesus suggests that the vision of the new heaven is available to us…even beyond what John records in scripture. My encouragement to you is to ask the Lord for vision and see for yourself!

A New Earth…

Our current planet and the peoples that populate it will become new; it is written in scripture! When it comes to manifest transformation however, consider this: how we see the world now (in the very present moment) determines the pace and presence of transformation and the manifestation of the Kingdom on earth. Therefore, if we desire to expedite the return of Jesus, our best investment is to do what Jesus commanded: taste and see.

1 Corinthians 13:12 says, “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.” Not only can we be face to face with Jesus right now, we are already seated in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). How much more would we see the Kingdom on earth if we opened our eyes in the spirit, looked around the heavenly landscape, opened our natural eyes, and began to see the truth of what God intends for the earth now?

The Kingdom

Fellow believers, I urge you to explore the gospel of the Kingdom. Let it inform and transform you into the citizen of new heaven and new earth you were called and chosen to be.

O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, enthroned above the cherubim, you are the God, you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth. -Isaiah 37:16
